Sullivan Selected NACC Freshman Of The Year

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College freshman Mikaela Sullivan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) became the fourth runner in program history to earn conference Freshman of the Year honors after leading the Warriors with an eighth-place finish at the 2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships on Saturday at Greenfield Park. WLC finished just one point back of third place with 98 points at the championships.

  • Sullivan was the top Warriors finisher in the 103-runner field, as she placed eighth overall with a 6K time of 26:13.76 to earn Freshman of the Year and All-NACC recognition.
  • Freshman Brooke Graesslin (Janesville, Wis.) earned a 13th-place finish to collect an All-NACC spot after a time of 27:02.71. 
  • Senior Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.) placed 17th overall, clocking a time of 27:25.40.
  • Freshman Hannah Lawless (Danvers, Ill.) finished 31st and posted a time of 28:10.99.
  • Senior Megan Kuether (New Berlin, Wis.) rounded out the Warriors' top five scoring runners, finishing 34th in a time of 28:16.12. 
  • The Warriors finished fourth with 98 points, just one point behind third-place Concordia Chicago.
  • With two All-NACC runners at the championships, Wisconsin Lutheran has had at least one runner collect all-conference honors for 20 consecutive seasons.

  • Benedictine's Emma Roberts became the first runner in conference history to three-peat, as she won the 103-runner 6K race with a time of 24:34.58. Edgewood had all five of its scoring runners place in the top 15 to win its second straight team title with 47 points.

  • The Warriors have next week off and will return to the course on Saturday November 16 for the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional. The 6K race is set to start at 12:00 p.m. at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne.
