Warriors Finish Runner-Up At Home Invitational

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's cross country team finished second out of 15 teams at the Warrior Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Greenfield Park. Freshman Mikaela Sullivan (Wauwatosa, Wis.) lead WLC with a 17th-place finish in the 135-runner field.

  • Sullivan, who has been the top Warriors finisher in each of her three races this season, finished the 6K course with a time of 26:01.9 for 17th-place in the 135-competitor field.
  • Freshman Brooke Graesslin (Janesville, Wis.) finished close behind Sullivan, placing 19th in a season-best time of 26:13.5.
  • Senior Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.) ran a season-best time of 26:57.5 to place 26th, finishing 0.35 seconds in front of the 27th-place finisher.
  • Senior Megan Kuether (New Berlin, Wis.) ran a season best time of 27:23.8 for 33rd place.
  • Freshman Hannah Lawless (Danvers, Ill.) rounded out the Warriors scoring five, finishing 36th in a time of 27:35.4, also good for a season best.
  • The Warriors finished second in the team standings with 100 points, 51 behind the team champion.

  • Edgewood won the 17-team scoring invite with a team score of 49 points. The Eagles placed three runners inside the top 11.
  • Souleya Ibrahim of Oakton Community College won the 6K race with a time of 23:55.7.

  • The Warriors will compete at the Gene Davis Invitational next Saturday, October 12. The 6k race is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Reid Golf Course in Appleton.
