Warriors Place Sixth At Private College Championships

GREEN LAKE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Hannah Weide (New Berlin, Wis.) finished 16th overall and was one of 12 Warriors to record a season-best time as the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's cross country team placed sixth out of 11 scoring teams Saturday at the Wisconsin Private College Championships at Tuscumbia Golf Course.

  • Top WLC individual: Hannah Weide, 16th of 102, 25:08.97

  • Hannah Weide placed 16th overall to lead the Warriors with a season-best 6K time of 25:08.97.
  • Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.) finished just two places behind Weide in 18th, running a personal-best time of 25:22.42.
  • Megan Kuether (New Berlin, Wis.) also ran a season-best time of 26:14.57, registering a 28th-place finish. 
  • Siobhan Heiss (Beloit, Wis.) finished close behind Kuether 31st with a time of 26:28.27.
  • Faith Peebles (Fond du Lac, Wis.) ran a season-best time of 26:44.47 for 33rd place and her first top five team finish.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran finished sixth with 126 points, ahead of three other NACC schools who competed.

  • Edgewood's Taylor Mair won the 102-runner meet with a time of 23:55.09, 12 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. St. Norbert placed four runners inside the top 10 to win the team title with 42 points, 38 in front of runner-up Beloit.

  • The Warriors have next weekend off to prepare for the 2018 NACC Championships on Saturday, October 27 in Aurora, Illinois. Race time is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Oakhurst Forest Preserve.
