Warriors Finish Middle Of The Pack In Large Field At DeSales

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's cross country team traveled to Center Valley, Pennsylvania to race at the DeSales Invitational Saturday morning. The Warriors placed 11th out of 22 scoring teams with 317 points with Cassie Balts (Barron, Wis.) leading the team with a 35th-place finish out of 225 runners in a time of 25:02.4.

  • Balts was the top finisher among the Warriors, placing 35th out of 225 competitors with a time of 25:02.4.
  • Megan Kuether (New Berlin, Wis.) finished in a personal-best time of 25:55.3, good for a 59th-place finish.
  • Siobhan Heiss (Beloit, Wis.) raced to a 99th-place finish with a time of 27:06.9.
  • Christina Biffert (Lomira, Wis.) ran to a 101st-place finish in a time of 27:12.7.
  • Bethany Wagenknecht (Yorba Linda, Calif.) rounded out the Warriors' lineup with a time of 27:39.3, good for a 109th-place finish.


  • DeSales' Veronica Wheeler took home the individual title with her 6K time of 22:07.4. She topped the runner-up finisher by :29 seconds.
  • Kutztown had seven of its runners finish inside the top 23 to claim the 22-team scoring title with 49 points.


  • Wisconsin Lutheran will race next Saturday, October 14 at the Private College Championships in Watertown. The 6K race is scheduled for a 12:30 p.m. start time at Brandt-Quirk Park.
