Warriors Race Saturday At UW-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. – Cassie Balts (Barron, Wis./Barron) recorded a new season best placing 16th overall out of 83 runners with a 6K time of 25:29.7 to pace the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's cross country team at the Tom Hoffman Invitational Saturday on the campus of UW-Whitewater.

WARRIORS TOP FIVE PERFORMERS

  • Balts recorded a career-best 6K with her time of 25:29.7.
  • Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) crossed the finish line in 26:58.7 for 28th.
  • Hannah Weide (New Berlin, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded a time of 27:26.6 for 33rd place. 
  • Anna Curtis (Palmetto, Ga./Homeschooled) placed 39th in 27:57.5.
  • Bethany Wagenknecht (Yorba Linda, Calif./Esperanza) finsihed 42nd in 28:20.2

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS

  • Kristina Schuette (Manitowoc, Wis./Lutheran) completed her race in a time of 29:21.7.
  • Siobhan Heiss (Beloit, Wis./Paramount Christian) (29:27.8), Erika Shaw (Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) (29:32.0), Maria Froman (Dearborn, Mich./Huron Valley Lutheran) (29:59.6), and Lauren Howard (Pewaukee, Wis./Lake Country Lutheran) (30:49.6), also competed for WLC.
  • Carroll's Megan Ludke won the 6K race with a time of 22:39.7. UW-Platteville captured the seven-team invite title with 37 points.

UP NEXT

  • Wisconsin Lutheran will next race September 25 at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. The 6K race is shceduled for a 5 p.m. start time at Saukie Golf Course.
