WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College's Britley Grulke (Hustisford, Wis.) has received postseason honors from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, it was announced Thursday as the awards for the 2017 women's volleyball season were released by the conference office.
Grulke, who was named First Team All-NACC for the second time in her career, led the Warriors in kills (311), kills per set (2.64), total attacks (1,090), and points (364.0). She was also second on the team in digs (318) and digs per set (2.69). Grulke's 311 kills ranks third in the NACC. The junior outside hitter started all 31 matches for the Warriors and posted a team-leading 11 double-doubles. She tied a career high with 21 kills October 21 vs. Concordia Chicago and established a new career mark for digs with 25 September 2 at Beloit.
Concordia Wisconsin's Kaily (Moegenburg) Erdman was honored as Player of the Year. Aurora's Julia Wood was named Defensive Player of the Year, while Dominican's Anastasia Labadessa was tabbed as Freshman of the Year. Concordia Wisconsin's Janelle Katz was voted Coach of the Year by her peers following the Falcons' second consecutive NACC title.
The Warriors concluded their 2017 season with an overall record of 13-18 and a 6-5 record in the NACC. The 2017 campaign marked the most conference wins since 2012 and the first time over .500 in conference play since 2011.
