Warriors Drop Two Matches At Pizza Hut Classic

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball team dropped its first two matches of the Pizza Hut Classic in Oshkosh Friday night. In the first match, the Warriors fell to St. Norbert in three sets, before dropping a 3-1 decision to Saint Mary's (Minn.) in their final contest at the Kolf Sports Center.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran opened play Friday falling to St. Norbert in three sets.
  • Junior outside hitter Britley Grulke (Hustisford, Wis.) paced the Warriors with 10 kills in the match, while Brooke Roberts (Randolph, Wis.) added eight.
  • Morgan Scanlon (Racine, Wis.) recorded 13 of 28 digs for the Warriors, while Courtney Pattison (Prairie du Chien, Wis.) dished out 22 assists.
  • Five different Wisconsin Lutheran players had a service ace.
  • The Warriors hit .233 in the second set, their highest mark for the match.
  • Lexie Van Hiel led the Green Knights with nine kills and four solo blocks.


  • After dropping the first set against Saint Mary's, the Warriors took set two by a score of 25-21.
  • Saint Mary's answered by winning the last two sets of the match, 25-16 and 25-14.
  • Senior Nicole Klipstein (Hartford, Wis.) led the Warriors' hitters with seven kills and two block assists, while Grulke added six kills and five digs.
  • Scanlon again led the Warriors on the defensive side, registering 12 digs.
  • Pattison dished out 18 assists and added three kills and two block assists.
  • Brandi Blattner led the Cardinals with 16 kills in the match, with Brittney Hanson registering 24 assists.
