Cardinals Come Back To Top Warriors In Four

NAPERVILLE, Ill. ( - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's volleyball team won the first set over North Central, but dropped the next three as the Cardinals handed the Warriors their fourth straight loss on Tuesday in non-conference action at Gregory Arena.

  • The Warriors started strong scoring the first four points of the set and were able to hold on to take the first set from the Cardinals, 26-24, forcing NCC into 12 errors and an attack percentage of .019.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran never got more than a one-point lead on North Central in the second set, which pulled out a 25-19 win to even up the match at one set apiece. The Cardinals hit a team-best .375 in set two.
  • The Warriors took an early lead in the third set before the Cardinals rallied and scored seven straight points forcing Wisconsin Lutheran into nine errors, winning the third set, 25-18.
  • The Cardinals were able to put the match away in the fourth set winning 25-18 by posting an attack percentage of .270 forcing the Warriors into six errors.


  • Britley Grulke (Hustisford, Wis./Hustisford) was the only Warriors player to reach double-digit kills, finishing with 14.
  • Courtney Pattison (Prairie du Chien, Wis./Prairie du Chien) added a double-double with 23 assists and 11 digs. She also added four block assists. 
  • Megan Wierzbicki (Hartford, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Heather Warskow (Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) collected 23 and 15 digs, respectively.
  • North Central was led by Rachel Elshoff and Cara Howell who recorded 14 kills each, while also posting 26 and 15 digs, respectively.


  • The Warriors close out their 12-match road trip on Friday with a 7:00 p.m. NACC match at Marian (4-12, 2-1 NACC). The Sabres won their second straight match on Tuesday, defeating Lakeland, 3-1. Live stats and video will be available for the match at
