Rosenow Paces Warriors To Runner-Up At NACC Championships

LISLE, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – Leah Rosenow (Temecula, Calif.) was named Athlete of the Meet after combining to score 42 points to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team to a second-place finish at the 2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships Friday and Saturday at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex. The Warriors tied their best finish ever at the championships and scored their most points since 2013.

  • The 4x400m Relay of Sami Huebner (Sun Prairie, Wis.), Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.), Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.), and Rosenow won the event with a school-record time of 4:06.57. The team broke the previous record by .25 seconds from 2012.
  • WLC's 4x100m Relay of Huebner, Jenna Schmitz (Fox Lake, Wis.), Schumacher, and Rosenow also broke their previous school record from last week's Drake Alternative meet, resetting it at 49.67 seconds, to finish second.
  • Rosenow sprinted to a personal-best in the 400m final of 59.86 seconds to earn second place. She leaped 5.33m in the Long Jump for third and scored fourth-place finishes in both the 200m (26.75 seconds) and Triple Jump (10.82m).
  • Kiana Granath (Lodi, Wis.) won the Heptathlon for the third straight season, scoring 3,684 points. She threw a personal-best in the Javelin of 34.82m for third. Granath scored in the High Jump, clearing 1.51m to finish fifth, and ran 17.12 seconds in 100m Hurdles for seventh place.
  • Huebner sprinted to runner-up finishes in the 100m Hurdles in a personal-best 15.41 seconds and 400m Hurdles in 1:07.84. She ran a 1:01.05 in the 400m to finish fourth.
  • Heller ran a 2:28.82 in the 800m run to place third.
  • Schumacher clocked a personal best in the 400m final of 1:01.67 for fifth. She also ran a personal best in the 200m prelims of 26.94 seconds to reach the final. In the final, she ran 27.05 seconds for seventh.
  • Bethany Wagenknecht (Yorba Linda, Calif.) finished fifth in the 10,000m, posting a time of 45:33.93.
  • Kailey Acra (Dupo, Ill.) ran the 3,000m Steeplechase in a personal-best 14:03.79, good for fifth.
  • Siobhan Heiss (Beloit, Wis.) and Hannah Weide (New Berlin, Wis.) scored in the 800m, placing fifth and eighth with times of 2:30.20 and 2:36.29, respectively.
  • Heiss and Weide also scored in the 1,500m, placing sixth and eighth with times of 5:18.56 and 5:22.91, respectively.
  • In the 5,000m, Weide finished seventh in a finishing time of 20:25.51.
  • Madeleine Steber (Green Bay, Wis.) and Kaylyn Shevey (Muskego, Wis.) placed fourth and fifth in the 400m Hurdles, posting times of 1:10.27 and 1:13.09,respectively.
  • Schmitz leaped a distance of 4.98m in the Long Jump for eighth place.
  • Aurora won its eighth straight outdoor conference title with 224 points. The Spartans won four events to best the Warriors.
