Rosenow Wins Long Jump, WLC Sets New Relay Record In Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team set a new school record in the 4x100m Relay on Friday at the Drake Alternative Meet hosted by UW-Whitewater. No team scores were recorded at the event.

  • The Warriors 4x100m Relay team of Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.), Jenna Schmitz (Fox Lake, Wis.), Sami Huebner (Sun Prairie, Wis.), and Leah Rosenow (Temecula, Calif.) set a new school record with a second-place finishing time of 50.49 seconds. The team broke the previous school record of 50.75 seconds that stood since 2013.
  • Rosenow also recorded a first-place finish in the Long Jump, topping the 20-competitor field with a leap of 5.23m. She also placed sxith of 15 in the Triple Jump with a mark of 10.41m.
  • Schumacher posted a personal-best time in the 200m, placing fifth among 29 competitors with a time of 27.34 seconds.
  • Huebner registered a personal-best time of 15.49 seconds in the 100m Hurdles prelims before placing fifth overall in 16.88 seconds. She was also sixth of 20 in the 400m with a time of 1:01.94.
  • Hannah Weide (New Berlin, Wis.) posted season-best times in both the 5000m (20:14.74) for fifth place and 800m (2:31.40) for eighth place. Christina Biffert (Lomira, Wis.) also recorded a personal-best time of 21:25.97 in the 5,000m for eighth place.
  • Schmitz was fifth in the long jump with a season-best mark of 4.86m. Becca Heller (South Milwaukee, Wis.) was seventh of 20 in the 800m in 2:29.44.
  • Madeleine Steber (Green Bay, Wis.) finished sixth in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:14.22 and Natalie Lendt's (Watertown, S.D.) season-best mark of 10.32m in the Triple Jump was good for eighth.

  • The Warriors turn their attention to the NACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships next Friday and Saturday at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine Sports Complex in Lisle, Illinois.
