Frier Caps Collegiate Career At NCAA Championships

WAVERLY, Iowa - Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field student-athlete Amanda Frier (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) capped off her collegiate career on Thursday afternoon at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Wartburg College.

Running out of lane seven of the third heat in the 400-meter hurdles prelims, Frier finished with a time of 1:03.38. which was her second-best of the season and placed her 18th overall out of 22 competitors. The winners of each of the three heats and the next five fastest times advanced to Saturday's final. Nebraska Wesleyan's Ashton Rakow posted the top preliminary time of 59.61.

Frier, whose top-seeded entry time of 1:00.52 still ranks second in NCAA Division III, concludes her Warriors career as a three-time NACC champion in the 400-meter hurdles. She is the second athlete in program history to represent WLC at the NCAA Championships.
