CANTON, N.Y. - Debuting as the first Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field athlete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Warriors senior Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished 20th in the Heptathlon which wrapped up Friday at Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex. Ebeling, who was the last athlete to qualify for the event and was seeded 22nd, finished 20th after some strong performances during Friday's final events.
Ebeling began competition Thursday with the 100 Meter Hurdles, where she recorded a personal-best time of 16.13 for 21st place in the event. Mixed in between 22nd place finishes in the 200 Meter Dash (28.17) and High Jump (1.35 meters) was the Shot Put, where Ebeling posted a ninth-place finish with a toss of 10.66 meters. Through Thursday four events, Ebeling collected 2,348 points.
After opening Friday with a leap of 4.67 meters in the long jump, Ebeling bounced back with two strong performances in her final two events. The three-time conference champion finished sixth in the javelin (34.95 meters) and 11th in the 800 Meter Run (2:25.80) to surpass a pair of qualifiers and finish 20th overall in the combined event with 4,137 points.
Denison's Aedin Brennan won the event with 5,091 points.
The 2015 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships conclude Saturday with events beginning at 10:30 a.m. CST at Merrick-Pinkard Track & Field Complex on the campus of St. Lawrence University.
