DE PERE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team scored 88 points to finish fifth out of seven scoring teams at the Private College Championships Saturday at Schneider Stadium.
Amanda Frier (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) secured a pair of first-place finishes with personal-best times in the 200 meters (27.69) and the 400 meters (1:00.12).
Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) set a new school record in the shot put with a throw of 11.35 meters for ninth place. She also finished first in the 100 meters with a time of 12.75, second in the 200 meters with a time of 28.23, and sixth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 4.95 meters.
Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) finished in the top 10 in all four of her events, placing second in the javelin with a toss of 37.36 meters, fifth in the 100-meter hurdles crossing the line in 16.85, and a pair of seventh-place finishes in the long jump (4.89 meters) and 200 meters (30.07).
Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) finished the 400 meters in 1:05.05 for sixth. Taylor Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) also competed in the 400 and finished in 1:11.02. She also placed 10th in the 200 meters with a time of 30.82.
Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) finished ninth in the discus with a toss of 30.43 meters. She also had a personal-best time in the 400-meter hurdles of 1:17.51 and competed in the javelin with a mark of 24.74 meters.
Cassie Balts (Barron, Wis./Barron) set a pair of personal-bests with a time of 5:38.48 in the 1,500 meters and 21:16.10 in the 5,000 meters. Lauren Howard (Pewaukee, Wis./Lake Country Lutheran) also competed in the 5,000 meters, crossing the line in 23:29.92.
In the field events, Bethany Unkefer (Phoenix, Ariz./Arizona Lutheran) placed seventh in the high jump with a leap of 1.48 meters. Anamarie Stern (Waco, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) secured eighth with a leap of 9.77 meters in the triple jump. Debbie Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) competed in the long jump and posted a leap of 4.31 meters.
WLC's 4x400-meter relay team took home fourth place with a time of 4:23.57.
Carthage won the championships with 207 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships next Friday and Saturday at Raabe Stadium.
