Warriors Place Third At Home Invitational

MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team scored 94 points to place third out of eight teams at the Warrior Invitational Saturday at Raabe Stadium.

Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) took second in the 100 meters with a time of 12.89 and third in the shot put with a toss of 10.76 meters. She also was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that won the event with a time of 4:13.47. Weiglein was joined on the relay by Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), Taylor Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon), and Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon).

Tori Remstad placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:03.02. Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) posted a trio of top-10 finishes, taking second in the javelin (26.59 meters), fifth in the discus with a personal-best toss (31.54 meters), and ninth in the 400 meters (1:07.95).

The distance medley relay team of Anna Curtis (Palmetto, Ga./Homeschooled), Taylor Remstad, Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South), and Cassie Balts (Barron, Wis./Barron) took home second with a time of 13:57.67. The sprint medley team of Weiglein, Kate Naujock (Livonia, Mich./Michigan Lutheran Seminary), Tori Remstad, and Hafemeister placed third crossing the line in 1:59.52.

Julie Favorite (New London, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) also placed third in the 5,000 meters in 18:47.87.

In the mile, Stumpner was sixth (5:48.55) and Curtis was 10th (6:01.48). Naujock ran the 100 meters, finishing in 13:50 for seventh. Taylor Remstad competed in the 200 meters, placing 11th with a time of 28.36.

In the field events, WLC was led by Ebeling's two top-seven finishes. The senior was third in the long jump (4.87 meters), seventh in the high jump (1.40 meters), after taking eighth in the 100 meter hurdles, crossing the line in 17.86.

Debbie Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) finished fourth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 4.50 meters. Anamarie Stern (Waco, Neb./Nebraska Lutheran) was fifth in event with a personal-best leap of 4.36 meters and a distance of 9.25 meters in the triple jump for sixth place.

Erika Koenig (Waukesha, Wis./West) finished 10th in the shot put with a toss of 8.57 meters. She also competed in the discus with a personal-best throw of 22.37 meters.

St. Norbert won the meet with 279.50 points.

Wisconsin Lutheran will compete at the St. Norbert Invitational next Saturday at Schneider Stadium in De Pere. Events begin at 10:30 a.m.
