STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team wrapped up its 2015 indoor season by competing in three last chance meets Friday and Saturday. Select members of the team competed Friday at the Carthage Gill Athletics Final Qualifier, and Saturday at the Pointers NCAA Qualifier and the Polar Bear Last Chance. Team scores were not recorded for any event.
On Saturday at the Pointer Qualifier, Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) broke her own school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.17 seconds. She also competed in the long jump (4.75 meters) and shot put (10.69 meters).
Cassie Balts (Barron, Wis./Barron) set a new personal-best in the mile with a time of 6:00.86.
Julie Favorite (New London, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) also set a new personal-best in the 3,000 meters, crossing the line in 10:52.39.
At the Polar Bear Last Chance, Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) broke her own pentathlon school record for the third time this season, finishing with 3084 points to take third place. Ebeling won the shot put as part of the pentathlon with a school-record toss of 10.90 meters.
Friday at Carthage, Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) competed in the 800 meters and placed fifth with a time of 2:32.99.
The weekend events cap off indoor season competition for WLC. Wisconsin Lutheran begins its outdoor season schedule March 27-28 when it competes at the two-day Washington (Mo.) Invitational in St. Louis.
