PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team competed Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational at Williams Fieldhouse. The Warriors recorded eight top 10 finishes at the event where no team scores were recorded.
Senior Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) broke her own school record in the 60-meter dash at the same event she did a year ago. Weiglein placed fourth in the finals with a time of 8.20. She also took eighth in the shot put with a mark of 10.59 meters.
Senior Julie Favorite (New London, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) was second in the 5000 meters with a time of 18:44.04. Favorite also came in eighth in the 3000 with a time of 11:16.66.
Senior Amanda Frier (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.77. She bested that time in the prelims of the event with a mark of 9.62. Frier also finished 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.81.
In other field event action, senior Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) was eighth in the long jump with a distance of 4.76 meters.
The Warriors' 4x400-meter relay team took home seventh of 14 teams with a time of 4:25.02.
Wisconsin Lutheran is back in action next Friday for the Panther Tune-Up at the Klotsche Center. Events are set to get underway at 4 p.m.
