Women's Track & Field Competes At Platteville Open

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) captured fourth place in the shot put to post the highest finish of the day for the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team at the Pioneer Open Saturday at Williams Fieldhouse. No team scores were recorded for the meet.

Weiglein placed fourth out of 17 throwers in the shot put with a throw of 10.76 meters. She also just narrowly missed her school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.30 seconds to place sixth in the event. Weiglein placed ninth in the long jump with a jump of 4.54 meters.

Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) used a leap of 4.62 meters to take seventh in the long jump. She also competed in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.44 seconds.

Amanda Frier (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.70 seconds. Julie Favorite (New London, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) used a time of 10:59.68 to take eighth in the 3000 meters.

Anna Curtis (Palmetto, Ga./Homeschooled) was 12th in the mile run with a time of 6:24.47.

Wisconsin Lutheran returns to competition next Friday, February 6 at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Open in Oshkosh as well as the Pointer Invite & Multi in Stevens Point.
