KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team opened its 2015 indoor season by earning a seventh-place finish out of 12 teams at the Carthage Private College Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center. The Warriors posted a team score of 32.0 points.
Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) broke her own school record in the pentathlon with 2,852 points to take first in the event.
Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) also bested the previous school record in the pentathlon with 2,411 points to place second in the event. She also finished fifth in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.72. Weiglein competed in the high jump with a mark of 1.35 meters.
Amanda Frier (Oostburg, Wis./Oostburg) captured a first-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.14. She also competed in the 200 meter dash for a time of 29.89.
Chicago won the meet with 210.50 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action for the NCAA/NAIA Challenge next Saturday, January 24 in Bourbonnais, Ill.
