MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team recorded 11 top-five finishes and scored 85.33 points to place fourth out of eight teams at the Wisconsin Private College Championships Saturday at Raabe Stadium.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), Taylor Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon), Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon), and Christa Winslow (Dousman, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) won the event with a time of 4:16.17.
The Warriors also piled up four second-place finishes, led by Amanda Bregger (Waukesha, Wis./South), who was runner-up in both the pole vault (3.20 meters) and triple jump (9.98 meters). Aislyn Keyes (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) tied for second in the high jump with a leap of 1.50 meters and Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) clocked in at 2:29.44 to take second in the 800 meters. Keyes also landed sixth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.75 meters.
Winslow claimed a pair of third-place finishes in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles, recording times of 16.73 and and 1:10.20, respectively. Ebeling finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.32 and Ashley Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) finished in 19.08 to take seventh. Ebeling also took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 4.70 meters.
Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) ran to third in the 100-meter dash (13.33) and placed fifth in the 200 meters (28.61). Bregger was close behind in the 200 with a time of 28.82, good for seventh place. Tori Remstad recorded a time of 1:02.01 in the 400 meters to take third place.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Jones, Keyes, Taylor Remstad, and Tori Remstad crossed the finish line in 54.70 to finish fifth. Ebeling (10.77 meters) and Weiglein (10.38 meters) each competed in the shot put and finished 10th and 12th, respectively.
Carthage won the meet with a score of 190.33.
Wisconsin Lutheran will compete at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships next Friday and Saturday at the Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. each day.
