WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team competed at the Carroll Invite Saturday, taking home a fourth-place finish behind 13 top-10 finishes throughout the day.
Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) came away with an eighth-place finish after completing the 100-meter dash in 13.36.
Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) fared well in the 400-meter dash, taking fourth with a time of 64.20. Taylor Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) was close behind in sixth with a time of 66.72.
Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) earned a top-10 finish in the 800-meter run, completing the event in 2:37.33 for ninth place.
In the 100-meter hurdles, the Warriors had a pair of top 10 finishers with Christa Winslow's (Dousman, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) 16.76 second-place time and Ashley Jones' (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) 18.44 seventh-place mark. Winslow also took home a second-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, completing the race in 68.30.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Winslow, Tori Remstad, Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran), and Taylor Remstad proved to be the best, winning the event with a time of 4:08.20.
In the field events, Aislyn Keyes (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) took fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.55 meters, surpassing the previous school record by .03 meters. Keyes also took eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 9.65 meters.
Amanda Bregger (Waukesha, Wis./South) vaulted 2.92 meters to take fourth in the pole vault. Bregger leaped 4.87 meters to take fifth in the long jump, while Ebeling jumped 4.61 meters to place ninth. Ebeling also took second in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.38 meters.
WLC finished with 59 points to take fourth. St. Norbert totaled 188 points to win the 11-team meet.
WLC will host the Warrior Invitational next Saturday at Raabe Stadium. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
