ST. LOUIS - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team began its outdoor season by competing in the Washington University in St. Louis Invitational Friday and Saturday at Bushyhead Track. The Warriors were among 50 teams to compete during the two-day event.
Jenny Ebeling (Muskego, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) recorded the top Warriors individual finish over the weekend as she placed ninth out of 57 competitors in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.33 meters.
Amberly Weiglein (Brownsville, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) placed 14th of 64 in the shot put after throwing a distance of 11.05 meters. Also in field events, Amanda Bregger (Waukesha, Wis./South) was 15th of 31 in the long jump (4.73 meters) and 20th of 41 in the pole vault (2.90 meters). Aislyn Keyes (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) took home 19th place in the high jump with a height of 1.45 meters in the 35-compeitor field.
Tori Remstad (South Lyon, Mich./South Lyon) finished 28th of 47 in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.03. Christa Winslow (Dousman, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) led the Warriors in hurdle events as she placed 11th of 22 in the 400-meter hurdles (1:10.10) and 30th of 43 in the 100-meter hurdles (16.99).
Lincoln collected 152 points, easily out-distancing themselves from host runner-up Washington-St. Louis' 79 points, to top the field of 27 scoring teams.
The Warriors resume their outdoor season next Friday, April 4 when they compete in the Rex Foster Invitational in Whitewater. Field events begin at 12 p.m., while running events follow at 1 p.m.
