Bregger, Keyes Lead Warriors To Second Place At Parkside Classic

SOMERS, Wis. - Amanda Bregger (Waukesha, Wis./South) won a pair of events and Aislyn Keyes (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee) tied the school record in the high jump to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's track & field team to a second-place finish out of eight teams at the Parkside Classic Saturday at Petretti Fieldhouse. WLC finished with 72 points as the host school, UW-Parkside, won the meet with 155 points.

Bregger won the pole vault with a height of 2.97 meters and took first in the triple jump with a distance of 9.89 meters. Bregger also landed second in the long jump with a leap of 4.88 meters. She led the Warriors with a 13th-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time 29.41.

Keyes won the high jump with a height of 1.50 meters, tying the school indoor record set by Jamie Lauber in 1996. She finished second to Bregger in the triple jump with a distance of 9.67 meters.

The Warriors won the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:30.02.

Ashley Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) took home second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 10.36.

Jessica Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) led WLC with a seventh-place finish in the mile run, posting a time of 6:15.28. Andrea Hafemeister (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) finished right behind Stumpner in eighth place with a time of 6:19.27.

Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Saturday at the UW-Platteville Invitational at 11 a.m.
