MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College's Amanda Wietrzny (Pewaukee, Wis.) has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of October 1-7, as selected by the league's sports information directors. This is the first weekly award for a Warrior since 2015.
Wietrzny posted a 4-0 record as WLC picked up two NACC wins Saturday, defeating Dominican and Concordia Chicago by 9-0 scores. The freshman earned two wins at the No. 1 singles position, losing just one game on the day, and also collected two 8-0 wins at the No. 1 doubles position while paired with Hannah Gerbing (Pewaukee, Wis.).
Wietrzny and the Warriors concluded the fall portion of their schedule with a 7-6 record and are currently fifth in the NACC with a 5-5 conference mark. WLC will learn of its NACC Tournament status this weekend when the remainder of the teams complete their conference schedules.
