Women's Tennis Wraps-Up Spring Season With Sweep Of Beloit

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team wrapped-up its 2016-2017 season on Saturday afternoon with a 9-0 non-conference sweep over Beloit at Elite Sports Club.

  • The Warriors opened doubles play with three victories. Paige Potaracke (La Crosse, Wis./Luther) and Emily Boyd (Lebanon, Wis./Luther Preparatory) were 8-3 winners at No. 1. Tabitha Schultz (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Luther Preparatory) and Katarina Volkmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) collected an 8-1 win at No. 2, and at No. 3, Kendra Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Taylor Bergmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) won 8-6.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran continued its dominance in singles play, winning all six flights in straight-set fashion. Potaracke earned a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1, Schultz was a 6-4, 6-1 winner at No. 2, Boyd collected a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3, and Volkmann picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 4. Hannah Gerbing (Pewaukee, Wis./Wisconsin Lutheran) and Reebee Ratkowski (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) concluded singles competition with 6-1, 6-0 and 6-1, 6-1 wins at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.


  • The Warriors defeated the Buccaneers for the fifth straight time and second time this season.
  • Boyd won her team-leading ninth singles match of the year at No. 3.


  • The Warriors conclude their 2016-2017 season with a 6-9 overall record and 3-6 mark in the NACC.
