MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match to Alverno on Thursday night at Helfaer Tennis Stadium & Recreation Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Inferno swept through doubles play, winning each flight by scores of 8-0, 8-1, and 8-6. Katarina Volkmann (Slinger, Wis./Slinger) and Reebee Ratkowski (Waterford, Wis./Waterford) suffered the close defeat at No. 3.
  • The Warriors dropped all six singles matches in straight sets, with the closest coming at No. 6 where Ratkowski fell 7-5, 6-3.
  • The Inferno won their third straight over the Warriors, who face two must-win matches and need some help in order to qualify for the six-team conference tournament in the spring.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran travels to NACC-leading Concordia Wisconsin (8-0, 7-0 NACC) tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. for its second match in as many days. The Falcons last defeated Aurora (8-1) and Dominican (9-0) on Saturday.
