Warriors Drop Non-Conference Contest At Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Pagel (Kenosha, Wis.) made six saves in her Warriors debut, but the Wisconsin Luheran College women's soccer team fell to Carroll 3-0 in non-conference action Friday night at Schneider Stadium.

  • The Pioneers scored nine minutes into the game, as Amber Goodreau netted her first collegiate goal on a rebound that bounced back to her foot. Brookelyn Campbell was credited with the assist.
  • Less than 10 minutes later, Carroll added to its lead as Kaitlyn Zanon found the back of the net off a corner kick opportunity for her first goal of the season.
  • The Warriors defense found success over the next 60 minutes, allowing only three shots on goal during that span.
  • In the 89th minute, the Pioneers capitalized on a WLC foul as Zanon scored her second goal of the game to extend the lead to 3-0.

  • Pagel made six saves in her Warriors debut, including four in the first half.
  • Junior Kendra Schumacher (Little Chute, Wis.) attempted three of the Warriors' four shots, placing two on frame.

  • The Pioneers attempted 21 shots, including 11 on target. Sophia Cuttill and Brookelyn Campbell paced the team with four each.
  • Christina O'Block stopped both shots on goal she faced and completed her 11th career shutout.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action Wednesday, September 18 when it travels to Appleton to play Lawrence (2-1-0) at 5:00 p.m. It will be just the second meeting between the two teams since 2000, as the Vikings won 3-1 back on September 22, 2015.
