Warriors Drop Final Road Game To NACC Unbeatens

RIVER FOREST, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team dropped its final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference road game of the season Saturday, falling to first-place and conference unbeaten Dominican, 2-0, at West Campus Field.

  • The Stars struck first for a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute on Jackie Viola's second goal of the season off a shot from six yards from a corner kick.
  • The Warriors hung with Dominican for the rest of the opening 45 minutes as the score stayed 1-0 DU until halftime.
  • Rosanna Mazzulla (Melrose Park, Ill.) made four first-half saves for the Warriors to keep the deficit at one at intermission.
  • Mazzulla held the hosts scoreless for the first 27 minutes of the second half, making a pair of saves, until DU broke through for its second goal of match at the 67:01 mark. Holli Cochran finished a rebound off the post for her 13th score of the year and a 2-0 Stars' lead.
  • It was the only goal of the second half as the final tally totaled 2-0 in favor of DU.

  • The Warriors were held without a shot in the game for the first time this season, as the Stars remained unscored on in conference play through 10 games this season.
  • Mazzulla made seven saves in the match for WLC.

  • Holli Cochran tallied a match-high eight shots in the match for Dominican, which totaled 23 for the contest.
