Warriors Fall To Vikings In Non-Conference Finale

MILWAUKEE (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team fell to the visiting North Park Vikings 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Warriors Soccer Field in their final non-conference match of the season. The Warriors currently sit seventh in the NACC standings and have three key conference games in the next two weeks for their quest to secure a NACC Tournament berth.

  • The visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Sam Moreno scored her 13th goal of the year after a shot from 10 yards out that snuck into the bottom left corner of the goal.
  • North Park added a second goal in the 26' after Moreno scored her second goal of the contest after taking a pass through the WLC defense and finding the back of the net, pushing the NPU lead to 2-0.
  • The Warriors had two chances in the 37' when Ella Metten (Greenville, Wis.) beat the North Park defense and had two shots, but one was blocked by a defender and the other was saved by the Vikings keeper.
  • North Park added four shots in the final five minutes of the second half, but failed to add to its lead.
  • The visitors controlled possession for a majority of the second half and tallied seven shots on goal, but Becca Nikolas (St. Cloud, Minn.) was able to keep the Warriors within striking distance.
