Warriors Fall To St. Norbert In Non-Conference Finale

DE PERE, Wis. - St. Norbert's attack piled up 34 shots on its way to a 6-0 non-conference victory over the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team Tuesday night at Schneider Stadium. The Warriors dropped to 2-6-1 and St. Norbert improved to 6-2-2.

Zoe Kurth opened the scoring for the Green Knights in the 24th minute on a header off of a corner kick. Katie Vanden Avond struck from 20 yards out in the 34th minute and Kurth scored her second goal of the game just over a minute later to make it 3-0.

Warriors junior goalkeeper Kate Gucinski (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) made eight saves in the first half as WLC was out-shot 15-0.

Shannon Jung netted the fourth goal for St. Norbert in the 62nd minute. Vanden Avond scored in the 70th and 80th minute to complete her hat trick.

Gucinski made nine second-half saves and 17 for the game. The Warriors were out-shot 19-1 in the second half, with the lone shot taken by forward Maggie Smith (Elkhorn, Wis./Elkhorn).

WLC (2-6-1, 0-0-1 NACC) returns home to Warrior Field for a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference game Saturday against Rockford (0-7-0, 0-2-0 NACC) at 3:30 p.m.
