LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2013 season Tuesday night, falling to Lake Forest 6-0 in non-conference action at Farwell Field.
The defending Midwest Conference champions netted three goals in each half en route to the non-conference defeat of the Warriors. Lake Forest (2-0-0) shutdown the WLC offensive attack as it controlled the shot count, 23-0. The Foresters netted scores in the 22nd, 32nd, and 35th minute of the opening half for a 3-0 lead at intermission.
LFC's Michelle Greeneway recorded a hat trick in the second half to account for the remainder of the scoring for the hosts. She finished with a match-high four shots for the game.
Junior goalkeeper Kate Gucinski (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) made 10 saves during her 90 minutes of action in net for the Warriors.
Wisconsin Lutheran (2-1-0) will next host Carroll (0-0-2) Friday at 6 p.m. at Warrior Field. The Pioneers are the third of five opponents from the MWC that the Warriors will face this season.
