Warriors Place Fifth At NACC Championship Preview Event

RACINE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team finished fifth out of seven scoring teams Sunday at the NACC Championship Preview at Meadowbrook Country Club. It was a preview event for the conference championship, which will be contested in three weeks on the same course.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • LeFebre led the Warriors with a 20th-place finish after carding a 110 on the par-73 course layout.
  • Addie Slominsky (Appleton, Wis.) was two strokes behind her teammate with a 112 and a tie for 21st.
  • Alyssa Leitzke (Jackson, Wis.) and Ashley Fritz (Middleton, Wis.) posted rounds of 116 and 125, respectively. 

FOR THE FOES

  • Aurora won the event by 40 shots over runner-up Benedictine with a team score of 361. The Spartans' Kallie Sakamoto earned medalist honors with an 80 (+7), topping the second-place finisher in 37-player field by 12 strokes.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran returns to the links next Saturday for the Marian Invite at Whispering Springs Golf Club in Fond du Lac. Tee time is scheduled for 8:00 a.m.
