Warriors Card Seventh-Place Finish At Marian Fall Invite

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Led by Ellyn Mortell's (Troy, Ohio) third-place finish, the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team finished seventh at the Marian Fall Invite over the weekend at Whispering Springs Golf Club.

  • Top WLC Individual: Ellyn Mortell (+29), T-3rd of 46


  • Mortell led the Warriors with an opening-round 85, which placed her in a tie for the lead after the first round, and fired a second-round 88 to finish with a two-day total score of 173.
  • Brianna LeFebre (Oconto Falls, Wis.) shot a 106 in the first round and a 108 on the second day to finish with a total of 214.
  • Alyssa Leitzke (Jackson, Wis.) shot a 123 on the opening day of competition before improving by six shots in round two to finish with a two-day total of 240.
  • Sydney Osborn (Pardeeville, Wis.) carded a first-round 138 before dropping her second-day total by 16 strokes to 122 to finish with a final tally of 260.
  • Caroline Kuether (Crete, Ill.) shot a 124 Saturday and a 137 Sunday to finish the tournament with a final card of 261.



  • Concordia Wisconsin and Lake Forest finished tied for the team title as both teams shot a 709 (+133), but the Foresters won the tournament via a scorecard tiebreaker.
  • Marian's Tayler Wise earned individual medalist honors, finishing with a two-day total of 168 (85-83) to win by two strokes.


  • The Warriors will compete next Friday and Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Fall Classic at Blackhawk Country Club in Madison.
