Warriors Shoot Season Best At Benedictine Invitational

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team shot a season-best 411 in Sunday's second round of the Benedictine Invitational at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club played Saturday and Sunday. Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) led the Warriors by tying for 15th with a career-low 175 (+32).

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Fenney carded a Saturday score of 89 and a Sunday score of 86 for career low two-day total of 175 (+32) to lead the Warriors and finish in a tie for 15th place.
  • Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) posted a first-round 89 followed by a Sunday round of 87 to finish one shot back of Fenney with a 176 (+33).
  • Brianna LeFebre (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) carded a 235.
  • Caroline Kuether (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) finished with a 253 and Sydney Osborn (Pardeeville, Wis./Pardeeville) totaled a 308.
  • WLC lowered its total by 17 shots from day one to shoot a season-best 411 in round two.
  • Pia Serano from Robert Morris earned medalist honors over the 52-player field with a two-round of total of 155 (83-72), finishing five strokes ahead of runner-up Kailey McDade from Carroll.
  • UW-Whitewater won the team event carding a two day total of 670 (+98), besting its second team and runner-up by 14 shots.
