Women's Golf Begins Season With Shootout On The Border

BRISTOL, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team finished 16th at the season-opening Shootout on the Border at Bristol Oaks Golf Club hosted by Carthage on Friday and Saturday. Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) led the Warriors finishing tied for 42nd with a score of 180 (+36).

  • Mortell fired a 90 in back-to-back rounds to post the lowest two-day score (180) for the Warriors.
  • Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) improved her score by 10 shots in the second round to shoot a 192 (101-91).
  • Brianna LeFebre (Oconto Falls, Ill./Oconto Falls) carded a 229.
  • Caroline Kuether (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) finished with a 284 and Sydney Osborn (Pardeeville, Wis./Pardeeville) totaled a 323.
  • Ashley Hofmeister from UW-Whitewater earned medalist honors over the 86-player field with a two-round of 155 (78-77), finishing three strokes ahead of the runner-up player.
  • The Warhawks also won the team title, edging Hope by just one stroke (645-646).



  • The Warriors will compete in the Concordia Wisconsin Triangular on Sunday at Mee-Kwon Park Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. WLC will compete against the host Falcons and Alverno.
