WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team won its third event of the year, claiming first place in its home event, the WLC Spring Triangular Friday at Currie Park Golf Course. The Warriors posted a team score of 401 to top runner-up Lake Forest by 27 strokes.
Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) led the Warriors with a score of 90 (+19) to take home medalist honors for the sixth time this season.
Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) carded a 99 to place fourth, and Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) finished fifth with a 103. Kristin Sokol (Verona, Wis./Verona) and Rachael Wendt (Seymour, Wis./Seymour) recorded identical 109's to finish tied for sixth, and Katherine Seidler (St. Joseph, Mich./Michigan Lutheran) fired a 116 to finish 12th.
Wisconsin Lutheran travels to De Pere to conclude its spring season at the St. Norbert Invitational Sunday at Ledgeview Golf Course. The first tee time is set for 12 p.m.
