GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) finished just two strokes back of medalist honors to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team at the Greensboro Spring Tri-Match played Monday and Tuesday at Forest Oaks Country Club.
Mortell carded a two-round 170 (87-83) on the par-72 course to finish just two shots back of Greensboro's Sophia Sedergren's 168 (85-83) for medalist honors in the three-team, 16-player field.
Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford), Rachael Wendt (Seymour, Wis./Seymour), and Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) rounded out the rest of the team scoring for the Warriors with a 202 (99-103), 211 (109-102), and 225 (113-112), respectively.
Wisconsin Lutheran finished the two-day tourney with an 808 (408-400). The meet host Greensboro Pride tallied the top team score with a 714 (361-353).
The Warriors resume their spring season Friday, April 10 at the Concordia Wisconsin Triangular.
