Warriors Turn In Solid Round To Finish Mad Dawg Invite

STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team competed Saturday and Sunday at the Mad Dawg Invite at Stevens Point Country Club. The Warriors fired their second-lowest round of the season Sunday and finished with an 800 (405-395) for 13th place at the two-day tournament

Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) tied for 32nd overall in the 78-player field to lead the Warriors. She shot a 91 and 88 to finish the tournament at 179.

Rachael Wendt (Seymour, Wis./Seymour) shot a 99 and 102 to finish with a 201. Both Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) (105-105) and Becky Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) (110-100) tied with a 210.

Rounding out the two-round scoring for the Warriors were Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) and Katherine Seidler (St. Joseph, Mich./Michigan Lutheran), who carded a 230 and 240, respectively.

UW-Stout's Brit McNett-Emmerich was named meet medalist after firing a two-round 160 (81-79) to finish at +14 for the tournament. The Blue Devils also won the team title with a 651 (332-319).

Wisconsin Lutheran wraps up its fall season with the three-round NACC Championship October 4-6 at Trappers Turn Golf Club in Wisconsin Dells.
