Mortell Ties For Medalist At Edgewood Triangular

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team competed Thursday afternoon at the Edgewood Triangular at Trappers Turn Golf Club, the site of next weekend's NACC Championship. The Warriors finished second among three teams with a 410, as host Edgewood didn't qualify for a team score.

Freshman Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) won her third event of the season as she tied for first in the 13-player field with Concordia Wisconsin's Nina Puch with an 88 on the par-72 course.

Sophomore Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) fired a season-low 94 to place third. Senior Becky Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) and junior Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) carded rounds of 113 and 115, respectively, to round out the scoring for WLC.

Concordia Wisconsin won the event after combining to shoot a 396, just 14 strokes ahead of the Warriors.

Wisconsin Lutheran will compete Saturday and Sunday in the UW-Stevens Point Mad Dawg Invitational at Stevens Point Country Club. First tee time Saturday is slated for 1 p.m.
