WEST ALLIS, Wis. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team won its second event of the year, claiming first place in its home event, the WLC Quadrangular Saturday at Greenfield Park Golf Course. The Warriors posted a team score of 402 to top Lakeland by five strokes.
Freshman Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) led the Warriors with a score of 89 (+20) to take second overall.
Rachael Wendt (Seymour, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) carded a 97 to place fourth, and Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) finished sixth with a 102. Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) and Kristin Sokol (Verona, Wis./Verona) recorded identical 114's to tie for ninth, and Becky Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) fired a 116 to finish 12th.
Wisconsin Lutheran travels to Oglesby, Ill., for the Deer Park Classic Monday and Tuesday at Deer Park Country Club. The first tee time for both days is set for 8:30 a.m.
