FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Ellyn Mortell (Eden Prairie, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) earned medalist honors in her second straight event after firing a 182 Sunday and Monday to win the Marian Fall Invite at Whispering Springs Golf Club.
Mortell carded a two-round 182 (90-92) to top the 21-player field and win for the second time in as many events. She held off reigning NACC Player of the Year Nina Push by six strokes to finish at +38 on the par-72 course.
Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Hartford) tied for 14th with a 223 (114-109). Rachael Wendt's (Seymour, Wis./Seymour) 227 (111-116) and Becky Miller's (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) 236 (117-119) rounded out the team scoring for the Warriors.
The Warriors were third among the three teams that filled a team score with an 868 (432-436). Concordia Wisconsin won the event after combining to shoot a 785 (386-399).
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts its own quadrangular Saturday at Greenfield Park in West Allis. First tee time is slated for 10 a.m.
