WEST CHICAGO, Ill. – The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team competed in the Benedictine Spring Triangular Saturday and Sunday at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club. The Warriors finished second with a two-day score of 630 after Sunday's final round was trimmed to nine holes to due weather.
Jordan Fenney (Erin, Wis./Harford Union) placed second overall in the 12-player field with a 146. Fenney carded a 98 in Saturday's first round and turned in a 48 after Sunday's nine-hole round. Becky Miller (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa) was sixth with a 156 (103-53). Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) (116-48) and Katherine Seidler (St. Joseph, Mich./Michigan Lutheran) (112-52) tied for eighth with identical 164s. Rebecca Miller, Ashley Miller, and Seidler each shot personal bests nine-hole rounds Sunday. Jordan Pagel (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) competed only Saturday, shooting a 133.
Aurora's Nikki Funk topped the field with her two-day 137 (98-39). The Spartans combined to shoot a 610 (426-184) to finish first, 20 strokes ahead of WLC's 630 (429-201).
The Warriors will next host Lakeland in a dual Tuesday, April 22 at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa. First tee time is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
