FRANKLIN, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College women's golf team won an event for the third consecutive time to begin its season, shooting a 409 at the Alverno Triangular Saturday at Whitnall Park Golf Course.
WLC had three golfers in the top four, led by second-place finisher Jordan Fenney's (Erin, Wis./Hartford Union) 95. Alex Hackel (Crete, Ill./Illinois Lutheran) was right behind in third with a 97. Rachael Wendt (Seymour, Wis./Seymour) tied for fourth with a 104.
The Warriors had two addtional golfers finish in the top 10 with Ashley Miller (Cedarburg, Wis./Kettle Moraine Lutheran) carding a 113 for seventh place, and Katherine Seidler (St. Joseph, Mich./Michigan Lutheran) in eighth place with a 117. Jordan Pagel (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) also competed for WLC as she totaled a 137.
Lakeland's Finni Simko was the top individual performer after she carded an 88. The Warriors shot a 409, eight strokes ahead of the runner-up Muskies.
Wisconsin Lutheran hosts its own triangular tomorrow at Currie Park Golf Course in Wauwatosa. First tee time is set for 11 a.m.
