Krahn Collects Top 50 Finish At Loyola Lakefront Invitational

CHICAGO, Ill. (WLCSports.com) – Junior Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.) finished 40th overall in a crowded field of 274 runners to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's cross country team at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors placed 21st among 31 scoring teams at the event.

  • Krahn posted a season-best 8K time of 27:08.9 to lead the Warriors with a 40th-place overall finish. The junior bettered his time by nearly a minute from the season's first 8K event two weeks ago.
  • Junior Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) placed in the top 75 with his 72nd-place finish. His time of 27:47.6 was also good for a season best.
  • Senior Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded a season-best time of 30:45.8, almost two minutes faster than his 8K season debut two weekends prior.
  • Freshman Jacob Trietsch (Trafalgar, Ind.) turned in a season-best time of 32:51.7, over two minutes faster than his collegiate debut two weeks ago.
  • Senior Ka Yu Tse (Kowloon, Hong Kong) rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with his season-best time of 35:45.2, a three-and-a-half minute improvement from September 14.

  • Marquette topped the 31-team field with 49 points and had four of its runners finish inside the top 12. Cole Martin of DePauw won the individual 8K crown with a time of 25:57.9.

  • Wisconsin Lutheran hosts the 19th annual Warrior Invitational next Saturday, October 5 at Greenfield Park. The 8K race is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
