Warriors Conclude Season At NCAA Midwest Regional

COLFAX, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Javier Cano-Telles (Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's cross country team to a 31st-place finish out of 35 scoring teams Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Division III Midwest Regional on a frigid afternoon at Whitetail Golf Course.

  • WLC Team: 31st of 35, 860 Points
  • Top WLC individual: Javier Cano-Telles, 130th of 253, 27:27.2

  • Cano-Telles was the first Warrior to cross the finish line in 130th place. He ran his second-fastest 8K time of the season in the 10 degree weather.
  • Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) was just 10 places behind Cano-Telles in 140th running a time of 27:38.7.
  • Tyler Punzel (Watertown, Wis.) ran a time 28:26.6, good for an 184th finish at his first regional championship.
  • Brady Stuck (Hubertus, Wis.) placed 189th, running a time of 28:37.3 to complete his collegiate cross country career.
  • Elijah Tesch (Sun Prairie, Wis.) rounded out the Warriors' scoring team with a 225th place finish in a time of 30:02.7.

  • Brad Hodkinson of Washington-St Louis won the individual regional title with a time of 24:31.8 to lead his team to a third-place finish.
  • North Central won the regional team championship with 30 points, placing five of their scoring runners inside the top nine.

  • The regional championship concludes the season for the Warriors. The NCAA Division III Championships will take place next weekend at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne.
