Schamber Breaks 60 Hurdles School Record In Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) - Senior Joel Schamber (Wyoming, Mich.) broke the school record in the 60m Hurdles Saturday to lead the Wisconsin Lutheran College men's indoor track & field team at the UW-Platteville Invitational. No team scores were recorded at the event.

  • Daniel Bronner (Hartland, Wis.) narrowly missed out on the title in the Mile run, finishing runner-up with a personal-best time of 4:30.66. His was just .66 seconds shy of bringing home the title in the 43-runner field.
  • Jonah Jahns (Germantown, Wis.) posted the Warriors' second-highest finish of the day, placing sixth out of 41 competitors in the 200m with a personal-best time of 23.23.
  • Chris Krahn (De Pere, Wis.) placed 10th of 23 in the 3,000m with a personal-best time of 9:22.88.
  • Schamber narrowly missed out on qualifying for the finals of the 60m Hurdles by .01 seconds with a school record and personal best time of 8.93 seconds. He bested the previous school record from 2014 of 8.97 seconds.
  • Sasha Bornschlegl (Rochester, Minn.) was ninth of 38 in the shot put with a personal-best toss of 13.31m.

  • The Warriors are back in action next Saturday when they compete in the Panther Tune-Up hosted by Milwaukee. Events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. inside the Klotsche Center.
