Men's Track & Field Opens Indoor Season In Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team opened its 2018-2019 indoor season Saturday at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational. The Warriors finished sixth at the season-opening event.

  • Event: UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational
  • Final Results: 6th of 6, 6 Points
  • Location: Kolf Sports Center, Oshkosh, Wis.

  • Joel Schamber (Wyoming, Mich.) finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles prelims and posted a finals time of 10.24 seconds for seventh place. Schamber also placed eighth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 54.73 seconds.
  • Keith Bowling (Jefferson Wis.) competed in his first collegiate meet in the long jump placing seventh with a jump of 6.34 meters. Bowling also placed eighth in the triple jump with a leap of 12.69 meters.
  • Invite host UW-Oshkosh won 12 events and took home the team title with 332 points.

  • The Warriors will compete again on Saturday, January 12 at the Karl Schlender Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. inside the Williams Center.
