Jahns Caps Sophomore Season At NCAA Championships

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WLCSports.com) – Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field sophomore Jonah Jahns (Germantown, Wis.) concluded his sophomore season this weekend at the 2018 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Roger Harring Stadium inside the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.

After qualifying for Saturday's 400 Meter final with a school-record time of 47.48 seconds, Jahns suffered an unfortunate injury during warm-ups and was unable to compete in the race. Jahns entered the prelims of the 400 Meters seeded 17th out of 20 with a qualifying time of 48.05 seconds. The sophomore sprinter finished fourth in his heat and eighth overall with a school-record time during Friday's prelims earn a spot in Saturday's final.

Mount Union's A.J. Digby was crowned national champion in the 400 Meters with a time of 46.07 seconds.

Jahns became the second athlete in program history and the first since 2009 to qualify for the national championships. Former Warrior Dominique Johnson qualified for both the 2009 indoor and outdoor championships in the triple jump.
