MILWAUKEE - The Wisconsin Lutheran College mens track & field team tallied 39 points to finish sixth out of eight teams at the Wisconsin Private College Championships Saturday at Raabe Stadium.
Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.60. Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) recorded a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase after crossing the line in 10:47.65.
Andrew Guenther (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) clocked in at 24.20 to finish fifth in the 200 meters. He also posted a time of 11.82 for a sixth-place finish in the 100 meters. The freshman competed in the long jump and took 13th with a leap of 5.63 meters.
Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien) landed a pair of seventh-place finishes in the 800 meters (2:09.34) and javelin (38.56 meters). Kyle McBee (Monroe, Mich./Lutheran South) took 10th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.53. Jeremy Fierros (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) finished 12th in the javelin with a throw of 33.15 meters.
Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 12.61 meters and took 11th in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.12 meters.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Boerneke, Hafenstein, Jones, and Kirk finished in 3:42.06 to take fourth place.
Carthage won the meet with 211.50 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran will compete at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Championships next Friday and Saturday at the Sports Complex in Lisle, Ill. Events will begin at 10:30 a.m. each day.
