ST. LOUIS - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team opened its outdoor season Friday and Saturday at the Washington University in St. Louis Invitational held at Bushyhead Track.
The Warriors had several solid performances in distance events as Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) placed 26th out of 104 competitors in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:12.07. He was one of eight Warriors to race in the event. Teammate Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) wasn't far behind as he finished 31st with a time of 4:15.21 .
Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) was 15th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 32:42.30, and Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) finished 55th of 160 in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:31.27
Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) finished 13th of 30 in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.20, and 16th of 28 in the 110-meter hurdles after he crossed the finish line in 16.49.
In the shot put, Andrew Stumper (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) placed 33rd among 95 entrants with a mark of 12.17 meters.
UW-Platteville topped the field of 31 scoring teams with 75 points.
Wisconsin Lutheran returns to action next Friday, April 4 for the Rex Foster Invitational in Whitewater. Field events get underway at 12 p.m., while running events follow at 1 p.m.
