KENOSHA, Wis. - The Wisconsin Lutheran College men's track & field team scored 43 points to finish sixth out of 10 teams at the 2014 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships Saturday at the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center.
Nick Biancuzzo (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Lutheran) captured the top finish for the Warriors, taking second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:58.93.
Nathan Boerneke (Fox Lake, Wis./Winnebago Lutheran) clocked in at 8.14 in the 55-meter hurdles to finish third.
Isaac Hill (Racine, Wis./Shoreland Lutheran) ran the 5,000 meters in 15:42.67 to finish fourth. The senior finished seventh in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:05.64. Chase Robles (New Berlin, Wis./West) did the opposite, taking fourth in the 3,000 meters (9:01.91) and seventh in the 5,000 meters (16:00.15).
The Warriors distance medley team of Biancuzzo, Danny Hafenstein (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran), Tommy Jones (Delavan, Wis./Delavan-Darien), and Sam Wallace (Appleton, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) set a school record with a time of 10:59.09, good for third place in the event.
Jeremy Fierros (Crystal Lake, Ill./Central) pole vaulted 3.65 meters to finish fifth.
Andrew Stumpner (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) finished ninth in the shot put with a throw of 12.38 meters. He also took 13th in the weight throw with a distance of 11.57 meters.
Hafenstein ran the mile in 4:38.88 to finish sixth and Jacob Jodat (Pewaukee, Wis./Waukesha North) crossed the finish line in 4:42.50 to take ninth.
Aurora won the conference championship with a score of 186.50.
Wisconsin Lutheran will return to the Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center to compete at the Carthage Gill Athletics Final Qualifier next Friday at 3:30 p.m.
